It all started with a trip to New York where I first tried a Magnolia Bakery cupcake. It made me realise that cupcakes were more than just a petite sweet treat. This was the start to my journey.
I started baking for family, friends and work colleagues, their faces would always light up with delight whenever I baked – it was an amazing feeling to create something that people enjoyed so much. I was hooked.
For almost 3 years I would look forward to baking cupcakes for any occasion. I loved to experiment with new flavours and learning all the techniques that created the perfect cupcake - taste, texture and appearance. I had found my passion - a passion that would leave me restless at night thinking of all the possibilities, excited about what could be, inspired to do more with my life.
Can you change the world with a cupcake? Perhaps. My ultimate goal is not only to create delicious and amazing cupcakes for all to enjoy but to create a business that will make a difference to those in need, to support great causes and be able to give back to our communities. I believe that however small our gestures may seem when we support and give back to society, we are creating a better world to live in. With all the violence, starvation, terror, poor living standards that those less fortunate than us are forced to face every single day of their lives - we have a choice to help them.
So here is another stepping stone to achieving my dream. I invite you to read about my stories on my blog. If anything I would like to share my experiences with you and to pass on the message that if you have a passion, if you have a dream, no matter how absurd, cliché or ridiculous it may seem - anything is possible, give it a try and remember there's no such thing as failure as it's only a step closer to success.
Thank you for your support, it means a lot.

Cupcake Central - The origin of my business name was inspired by one of my earliest baking events. My previous career in IT as a consultant required a fair amount of travelling. I spent a year and a half in Bendigo, driving back and forth from home in Melbourne. During that time I had made many friends that were also colleagues, they were all very supportive with my cupcake baking adventures and loved eating the cupcakes I baked.
Since most people that worked on the project in Bendigo were consultants and travelled from afar, we would often have events to bring colleagues together and celebrate our successes and achievements. One particular project event was a food festival, some were asked to bring in their specialty dish. Of course I jumped at the chance to bake cupcakes. And on the menu read "Cupcake Central" and that name just stuck. It is the small little steps that we take which will manifest our dreams into reality.
